# Introduction

> Build discounts that go beyond Shopify's built-in options, and run them natively at checkout.

Shopify's built-in discounts cover the basics. When an offer needs a quantity tier, a bundle, a customer segment or a free-shipping threshold that only applies to some carts, CB Discount Engine Pro builds it for you. Every discount runs as a Shopify Function on Shopify's own checkout, so it is fast and always matches what the shopper pays.

* You have picked a plan that covers the number of campaigns you need. See [Choosing a plan](https://codebeans-discount-engine-pro.mintlify.site/plans/choosing-a-plan.md).
* Some features need **Shopify Plus**: Cart Transform's *Update line item* operation, discount tags for stacking product discounts, and some Discount Manager rule types. Everything else works on every Shopify plan.
